Bonnie Piesse was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1983. She attended the Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School from the age of 4, where she learned to play the violin and developed her love for the performing arts. Bonnie always wanted to be a singer, and at the age of 14, began playing the guitar and writing her own songs, influenced by artists such as Jeff Buckley, Portishead, Counting Crows and The Cranberries. Though singing was Bonnie’s passion she also had a talent for acting. This lead Bonnie to get an agent, and at the age of 15, she was cast in her first lead role in the Australian children’s television series, “High Flyers.” Bonnie took a six month leave from school for the shoot and quickly realized that, along with singing, acting was something she wanted to pursue as a career. After “High Flyers,” Bonnie went on to guest star in a number of popular Australian TV shows, including “Blue Heelers,” “Stingers,” “Horace and Tina” and “Last Man Standing.” In 2000, Star Wars Episode 2 was shooting in Sydney, where casting director Robin Gurland was scouting for local talent. Bonnie’s work immediately attracted her attention. Robin flew down to Melbourne to meet with her and two weeks later, Bonnie was cast as Beru Whitesun in Attack Of The Clones. After shooting in Sydney and Tunisia, Bonnie returned to Melbourne to finish her final two years of high school, where she excelled in music studies. Bonnie was invited to perform at “Top Class,” followed by “Top Acts” as part of the 2002 Season of Excellence, where she was one of only 30 high-achieving performing arts students selected from around Victoria to perform at the Melbourne Concert Hall. Bonnie continued to grow and evolve as a singer and songwriter, winning the Ranges Songsmith Award in 2001 and the Apollo Bay Young Songwriter’s Competition in 2003. She performed in many venues and festivals around Victoria, including the Apollo Bay Music Festival where she headlined in 2004. While in Los Angeles to attend the Attack Of The Clones Premier, Bonnie fortuitously met 6-time Grammy award-winning music producer, Val Garay. She played him two songs she'd written, and he immediately saw her talent and decided to take her on as a developement artist. The demos Bonnie recorded with Val and composer/producer Nic. tenBroek attracted the attention of record executive Henry Marx, who offered her a recording deal on 321 Records. Bonnie is currently recording her highly anticipated debut album. CREDITS Film: Television: Live Performances: Awards:
